The Wrangler of today is a 3.8 liter, V-6, Rock Trac four wheel drive with Tru-lok electronic front and rear locking differentials and what the company refers to as balanced Next Generation Dana 44 heavy-duty solid front and rear axles. The new Wrangler is radical, the company claims, and that "fresh out of the box, the Jeep Wrangler will smoke many hard-core rigs."
The Rubicon, it says, digs harder, reaches farther and is more fun than any off-road 4x4 vehicle has a right to be. It has, the best-in-class approach and departure angles and ground clearance, locking differentials, huge meaty tires, and steel plate underbody armor. The manufacturer claims 4WD mastery and leadership, and says that the a Jeep Trail Rated badge is assigned to all 4x4s that pass a series of grueling tests designed to prove off-road capability on the world's most demanding terrain that tests traction, ground clearance, water fording, maneuverability, and articulation.
The Grand Cherokee is a 5.7liter , powerhouse with HEMI V8 with MDS (Multi-Displacement System) for increased fuel efficiency, added refinement, and more power. The newest Grand Cherokee is designated WK, and is offered as a five passenger, family oriented sport utility vehicle.
The Grand Cherokee advanced accident avoidance technology for use during extreme steering maneuvers. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over- or understeer and automatically applying individual brakes, and throttling back the engine to help the vehicle to maintain course and safety. For the added safety of families, the Grand Cherokee also has a four-wheel disc Antilock Brake System (ABS), brake assist and all-speed traction control to mitigate against wheel lockup and maintain steering control under slippery conditions and other situations of extreme braking.
The Liberty deals a 3.7 liter, single overhead cam (SOHC) V-6 engine, with seventeen inch cast aluminium wheels, and churns out 210 horsepower with 235 pound feet of torque for a five thousand pound towing capacity. For added safety, this "Go Anywhere, Do Anything" model has supplemental side curtain airbags. The manufacturer insists that Liberty's Selec-Trac II 4WD is the most advanced 4WD system in its class, though the model is also available in a choice of two Trail Rate 4WD systems, and a standard two-wheel-drive version.
The Liberty line is expanded by the Renegade model which also deals the renowned Jeep capability in a "hip, premium, and rugged new design." With its Select-Trac II full-time active four-wheel drive system, stylish 16-inch painted Mineral Gray Keystone wheels, black out headlamps and upscale interior accents, say the manufacturers, the Liberty Renegade is both urban dweller and off-road explorer, thanks to over 68 years of tried and true off-road craftsmanship.
